Obituary

Sara Ann Hooper, 62, of Wellsville, Ohio, passed away at home from natural causes on Sunday, November 1, 2026. Born on November 28, 1963, in East Liverpool, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Velma (Shultz) Davis.

Sara shared 39 years of marriage with her husband, Gregory Hooper. Together, they raised their daughter, Devon Hooper, of Beaver, Pennsylvania, who survives along with her partner, George Nicol.

Sara was a proud and devoted grandmother to Remmey Smith and Bristol Nicol. Remmey was her best buddy and partner in crime, and the two shared an incredibly special bond filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Sara was Remmey's biggest fan, always cheering her on from the sidelines, celebrating her accomplishments, and showing up for the moments that mattered most. Whether it was a basketball game, softball game, or cheerleading event, there was nowhere Sara would rather be but supporting her granddaughter. She also cherished the relationship she was building with Bristol and loved the opportunity to make new memories together. Being a grandmother brought Sara tremendous joy, and the love she had for her girls was immeasurable.

Sara was the "cool mom," the one all the kids wanted to be around. Her home and her heart were always open, and she had a special way of making everyone feel like family. Whether it was taking the kids for a drive, treating them to McDonald's, keeping their favorite snacks on hand, or simply being someone they could always count on, Sara made ordinary moments into cherished memories.

Her kindness and generosity extended far beyond her own family, and she touched the lives of countless people who were fortunate enough to know her. Known for her stubborn streak, generous heart, and unwavering love for those closest to her, Sara was always willing to lend a helping hand. She loved deeply, gave freely, and never hesitated to show up for the people who needed her. To know Sara was to know that you always had someone in your corner.

In addition to her parents, Sara was preceded in death by her brother, Chuck Davis; her sisters, Angela Davis and Mary Brown; her mother-in-law, Ruth Hooper; and her sister-in-law, Edith Hooper.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Gregory Hooper of Wellsville, Ohio; her daughter, Devon Hooper, and her partner, George Nicol, of Beaver, Pennsylvania; and her beloved granddaughters, Remmey Smith and Bristol Nicol. She is also survived by her brothers, Doug (Faye) Davis and Allan (LouAnn) Davis, both of Wellsville, Ohio; her sisters, Catherine (Kenny) Hackney of Hammondsville, Ohio, and Sue Baker of Wellsville, Ohio; along with several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Sara's passing leaves an immeasurable emptiness in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, her fierce love for her family, and the countless lives she touched along the way. She was the kind of person who made everyone feel loved, the kind of mother everyone wished they had, and the kind of grandmother whose love will live on in the hearts of her girls forever. She will be deeply loved, forever remembered, and missed beyond words.

Honoring Sara's wishes, no public services will be held. She has been entrusted to the care of the MacLean Funeral Home in Wellsville, OH
