Obituary

Raymond Chamberlain, aged 63, passed away surrounded by his family on September 1, 2026, at Akron General Hospital after a short battle with esophageal cancer. Born on July 12, 1963, in Norfolk, Virginia, he lived a life filled with dedication, adventure, and love.

Raymond devoted 26 years of his 40 year trucking career to PGT Trucking as a long-haul truck driver, where he was known not only for his exceptional skills but also for his unwavering commitment and work ethic. His passion for driving extended beyond his profession; he was a great driver who loved car shows and took pride in showcasing his truck at these events. He was also an avid fan of motorcycles and spent many evenings riding his beloved Harley Davidson.

A lover of music, Raymond found joy in the melodies that accompanied him through life's journey. This was especially evident when playing his favorite songs on his guitar. Above all, he cherished the moments spent with family, notably during the beloved reunions in West Virginia, where laughter and stories were shared, creating memories that will be treasured by all who knew him.

Raymond was a man of faith and an active member of the Church of Christ in Calcutta, Ohio. His early years of service in the US Navy instilled in him a sense of duty and honor that remained with him throughout his life.

He is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Chamberlain Jr. He leaves behind a loving family who will miss him dearly: his mother, Jean Chamberlain; brothers Thomas Chamberlain, Brian (Michelle) Chamberlain, Michael Chamberlain, and Christopher Chamberlain; nieces Rachel, April, Clara, Heather, Matalynn, Tiffany, Sarah, and Victoria; nephews Christopher, Joe, Michael, and Mathew; great-niece Lilly; and great-nephews Mason, Emmett, and Ryder.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Martin Chapel of Care Funeral and Cremation Specialists in Calcutta, Ohio, on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 4 to 6 pm, with a service to follow at 6 pm. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 5th, at noon at Sunset Hills Memory Garden in Canton, Ohio.

Raymond's life was a testament to love, loyalty, and perseverance. He will be remembered with fondness and affection by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
