Nancy E. Haywood, beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025, at the age of 84, at East Liverpool City Hospital. Nancy was born in Akron, OH, on October 3, 1940, the daughter of the late Homer H. and Catherine (Smith) Carpenter. She was a 1958 graduate of Kenmore High School in Akron, OH.

Nancy married William "Bill" Haywood on September 5, 1959 and spent the next 63 years building her life with him until his death in 2023. Nancy devoted her life to being a homemaker, while raising four cherished children. Her nurturing spirit and dedication to her family were the cornerstones of her life. In addition to her role as a mother and grandmother, she found fulfillment in volunteering with the American Red Cross, where she gave her time and energy.

Along with her parents and husband, Nancy was preceded in death by; her siblings, Thomas Carpenter and Catherine Kinney; her daughter-in-law, Dorothy Haywood; her son-in-law, David Ulbright; and her grandson, Kyle Smith.

Nancy leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving children: William Haywood, Jr., Tracy Haywood, Jennifer (Wes) Smith, and Rachel Ulbright. She was the proud grandma to: Shawn McClellan, Samantha Smith, Jacob Smith, Joshua Smith, Zachary Smith, Hunter Ulbright, and Katie Ulbright. Her family will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.

Family and friends are invited to honor Nancy's life at the Martin Chapel of Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists in Calcutta. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 11 AM to 1 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1 PM.
