HIGHLANDTOWN: Laura Virginia Randolph, passed away peacefully at her residence in Highlandtown, OH surrounded by her loving family on June 14, 2024, at the age of 91. She was born on July 14, 1932 in Wellsville, OH, the daughter of the late Frank E. and Jeanette (Patterson) Smith.
Laura was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was defined by her unwavering dedication to her family and her faith. She was a graduate of Wellsville High School, class of 1950. After high school, Laura worked at the Credit Bureau until she married.
Laura married LaVerne Meyer of Melbourne, IA, in 1953 until his passing in 1959. In 1964, she married Leopha "Scotty" Randolph, who passed away in 1998.
She was an active member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, where she served diligently as the Benevolence Treasurer for many years, helped with Bible School, Kids Club, and numerous church dinners, touching countless lives with her generosity and kindness.
Along with her parents and husbands, Laura was preceded in death by: her brothers, Hugh Smith and John Smith; sisters, Mary McPherson and Jean Hays; son-in-law, Michael Strickland, and stepdaughter, Patricia Randolph.
She is survived by her beloved daughters: Marilyn Strickland, Marlene (Joseph) Percuoco, Virginia (John) Tyson, and Kathy Randolph; her stepsons, Rev. Lee (Darla) Randolph and Robert (Terri) Randolph. Laura was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Laura's legacy lives on through her surviving family, who will cherish her memory forever.
Visitation will be held at the Martin Chapel of Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists, in Calcutta, on Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 3PM-5PM and from 6PM-8PM. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 23, at 2PM at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 16521 Steubenville-Pike Road, Salineville, OH 43945 with Rev. Mark Wilds officiating. Laura will be laid to rest in Bethel Cemetery
Laura's daughters would like to thank Misty Ketchum as our prayers and concerns were answered with her helping our mother for the past 7 years. She brought sunshine, laughter, and care to our mother.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in Laura's memory be made to Bethel Church or the charity of your choice.
