Kenneth "Ken" Scott, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side after a brief illness on August 16, 2024, at the age of 76.

Born on April 16, 1948, in East Liverpool of Kenneth D. and Ruth Scott. He graduated from East Liverpool High School. He then enlisted in the Navy where he served two tours in Vietnam U.S. Navy Seabees, earning him a Purple Heart. He was a proud and committed veteran. His dedication to his country extended through his active participation in the Disabled American Veterans organization. He was a member of the American Legion Post 557 in Wintersville. He was a member of the Tri-State Burial Group whom he took great honor in being a part of to continue to honor his fellow veterans with the dignity and respect that they earned and deserved.

He was a dedicated and hardworking man, serving as a Construction Superintendent throughout his esteemed career. He had a passion for Damascus blade smithing, which reflected his admiration for craftmanship and attention to detail.

His faith was central in his life; he was a devoted Deacon at First Church of Christ Disciples in East Liverpool. An intellectual and lifelong learner, he earned degrees in telecommunications and archaeology at Kent State University.

Ken leaves behind his beloved wife of 51 years, Vicki Reed Scott, and their three daughters, Melissa (Andy) Cochran, Traci Scott, and Kelly Scott Overholt. He was a cherished grandfather to Ryan Skinner, Kendra (Cam) Davis, Grace, Sarah, and Isabella Scott-Overholt who brough him immense pride. His best friend and brother-in-law Tom Reed along with his wife Marcia, and sister- in-law Cathy Reed, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Roger Scott, a brother-in-law John Reed, and a niece Jammi Reed Duran.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 20th, from 2-6 PM at the Martin Chapel of Care Funeral and Cremation Specialists in Calcutta, Ohio. A funeral service, officiated by Reverend Chuck Adkins, will follow at 6PM.

Ken lived a life marked by commitment to family, faith, and country. His legacy endures in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
