Kelsey Marie Jarvis, 33, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2026. She was born December 12, 1992, in East Liverpool, Ohio, the daughter of Jim and Amy Jarvis.

Kelsey had a heart that was drawn to anything with fur, feathers or paws. Animals were her people. She understood them, and they understood her, and she would often tell you that she preferred their company to that of most humans. Her constant companion and best friend was her dog, Gemma Marie, who rarely left her side. Her cat, Nyla, ruled the house alongside them. No stray went unnoticed and no creature went without kindness when Kelsey was around.

That same caring spirit carried into her work as a caregiver, where she found purpose in helping those who needed it most. She took pride in making life a little easier and a little brighter for the people in her care.

Kelsey played basketball for Beaver Local High School, graduating with the Class of 2011. She was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and one of her favorite memories was attending the 2010 AFC Championship game, where she got a hug from Hines Ward after they won and he jumped into the fan crowd. Music moved her, literally. Whenever she heard a song she loved, Kelsey would sing and dance, no matter where she was or who was watching.

In addition to her parents, Kelsey is survived by her loving brother, Cole Jarvis; her Gma and Pap, Anthony and Vickie Novacky, who were always there for her and loved unconditionally; her Grandfather, Bernie Randolph, and Alice Squires; her aunts, Tammy (Kevin) Morris, Brenda Smith and Darlene Pinkerton; her uncle, Gary (Kristin) Randolph; her cousins, Kate Steiner, Hunter Morris, Steven and Olivia Randolph, Janea Jarvis, Tony Jarvis, Nate Smith, Chad Smith, and Jena Smith; and her beloved animals, Gemma Marie and Nyla.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Myrtle Jarvis, and her great-grandparents, George and Antoinette Novacky.

Visitation will be held Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Martin Chapel of Care Funeral and Cremation Specialists in Calcutta, Ohio. A celebration of Kelsey's life will follow at 5 p.m., led by Pastor Mark Blakeley.

In lieu of flowers, Kelsey's family ask that friends and family reach out to the people they love. Call them, visit them and ask how they are really doing. A simple check-in can mean more than anyone knows.
