John LaScola, age 62, of East Liverpool, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2024. Born on July 6, 1962, in Michigan, he was a loving partner, devoted brother, and cherished friend to many.
John spent his career working in several capacities, most notably as a sales associate at Phillies Quik Stop in Chester, West Virginia. Through his various roles over the years, he exhibited an unwavering commitment to hard work and dedication.
In his leisure time, John found joy in visiting the casino and horse racetrack, often sharing the excitement with those around him. He loved dancing, cheering on the Detroit Lions and Notre Dame football teams, and vacationing at the lake, where he created many treasured memories with family and friends.
John is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Joseph and Pauline LaScola, and his brothers, Joe and Dante LaScola. He is survived by his life partner, Cathy Zimmer, and her children, Scott Zimmer and Melynda Bess, whom he loved as his own. He leaves behind his dear sisters, Mary Fraiser of Wellsville and Anne Phillips of Florida, who will forever hold him in their hearts.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Martin Chapel of Care Funeral and Cremation Specialists. At this time, no services are planned. In lieu of formal gatherings, the family hopes that those who knew John will take a moment to reflect on his life and share fond memories. Donations can also be made to the Tony Teramana Cancer Center of Steubenville, Ohio.
The family would like to extend their eternal gratitude to the nurses and aides of Trinity Health Systems East, Valley Oaks Care Center, East Liverpool City Hospital, and Buckeye Hospice, for their dedication and support. Special thanks are also extended to Pastor Matt for his comforting presence.
John LaScola's warmth, laughter, and kindness will be missed by all who had the privilege to know him. May he rest in peace, forever remembered in our hearts.
