Gayle Edgell, a cherished resident of East Liverpool, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on September 18, 1951, in East Liverpool, she spent her life in the community she loved, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and dedication.

Gayle began her career as a legal secretary at the Aronson, Fineman, Davis law firm, where her diligence and commitment to excellence were highly valued. Her entrepreneurial spirit later led her to open her own pet supply store in Calcutta, where she combined her passion for animals with her business acumen, warmly serving the needs of pet owners in the area for several years.

Gayle had a deep love for animals, which was a prominent theme throughout her life. She delighted in showing horses and took great joy in showering her beloved dogs and cats with love and affection. Known for her compassionate heart, she was an advocate for animal rights, always standing up for those who could not speak for themselves. In addition to her devotion to animals, she also enjoyed line dancing with her cherished friends at Zonka's, where her laughter and camaraderie were treasured by all who knew her.

Preceded in death by her father, Ray Richards, and sister, Roslyn Richards, Gayle is survived by her loving mother, Norma Richards; her loving husband, Bruce Edgell, her son Steven Edgell and his partner Clara. Her presence will be dearly missed by her family and friends, whose lives she enriched with her warmth and generosity.

A memorial service to honor Gayle's life will be held at Columbiana County Memorial Park on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to gather and celebrate the life of a wonderful woman who touched many with her kindness and unwavering dedication to the causes she held dear.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made below to Columbiana County Humane Society in Gayle's honor so that they may continue to provide care, love, and support to animals in our community.
