Barry Arbaugh, 85, of Wellsville, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh. Barry was born on July 7, 1939, the son of the late Dwight L. and Mildred Arbaugh. He was a graduate of Wellsville with the Class of 1957.

In his early years, Barry joined the Wellsville Volunteer Fire Department and eventually took a position as a paid firefighter in Wellsville and eventually became Chief. After his career with the fire department, he began working at the Bruce Mansfield Plant and eventually retiring from P.C.C Airfoils. Barry also dedicated decades of service to his community as an Associate at MacLean Funeral Home running the ambulance in his early years and being the friendly face at the door for many years after

Although he no longer worked at the fire station, the station and the fireman were still a big part of Barry's daily routine and he rarely ended a day without a visit. He was also a board member for Wellsville Public Library, a member of the Wellsville Historical Society, and attended Bethel United Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed his daily breakfast with "the guys", visiting antique malls, and collecting World War II memorabilia.

Along with his parents, Barry was preceded in death by: his wife, Erla A. Arbaugh, who passed away in January 2018; and two daughters, Deanna and Beth Lynn.

He is survived by: his daughter, Amy (John) Nicholson; and two grandchildren, Sara (Adam) Zahner and Chad (Rochelle) Nicholson.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 1PM-3PM at the Martin Chapel of Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists, in Calcutta. The service will follow at 3PM. The Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will be present to afford military honors and the Wellsville Fire Department will perform a Final Call. Barry will be laid to rest with his wife in Columbiana County Memorial Park.
